New Courses at Colaiste Ide

Some new further education courses available at Colaiste Ide, Dublin 11 are outlined below..

Pre-University Physiotherapy
An innovative new Level 6 programme specially designed for post leaving certificate students who wish to prepare for entry into a selection of European universities. Eligibility criteria include at least two HC3 grades and Mathematics (Ordinary)

Security Operations
A QQI Level 6 award aimed at those students who wish to work as Security Supervisors in the industry. Entry requirements are QQI Level 5, or Leaving Certificate with two grade C’s at Leaving certificate Higher level, or be Mature Applicants.

Sports and Leisure Management (with soccer specialism)
From 2015/16 the Association Football course, in it’s current format, will not be offered at Colaiste Ide. Instead those students with a particular interest in football can apply for a major Sports and Leisure Management award with soccer specialism. This module, Soccer Coaching, may be taken together with FAI Kickstart 1 and 2.

Pre-University Science
New name for an existing course. Our preparatory science has been running for almost twenty years in various formats. We believe our new name reflects more clearly the options for which students are searching. Last year five students were offered places in NUI Maynooth alone to study various science degrees.
